This figural cup was made by the Frankoma Potteries of Oklahoma and was called their Uncle Sam Toby Mug. It was advertised “for every day use or special occasions” and for serving beverages or as an unusual floral container”. This is their White glaze over the red Sapulpa clay and on the back it has the date 1976 and was probably made in recognition of the bicentennial. It is stamped on the bottom with the Frankoma name, F.P. 1976 and the design number 600.
It measures about 4” tall and is in very good condition showing almost no wear. There is chip off the glaze on the bottom which can be seen in the pictures. As this isn’t a typical area for damage, it is possible that there was a drip in the glaze which was removed in production, however it has been noted as being chipped.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
