This old figure is of a sweet girl with a basket or bonnet over one arm and a fan to her cheek. She has a couple of ringlets and her hair is white with green highlights. The skirt of her colonial styled dress is pink and yellow and her complexion is fair with a slight blush to her cheeks. The green H within a house mark on the bottom indicated this was made by Hertwig and Co. (later Katzhutte) of Thuringia, Germany between 1914 and 1945. It is also stamped Germany an the letters “EM” and incised with 1609 and what appears to be “O2” or “C2”. All color and the stamped marks are under glaze.
It measures about 5 1/8” tall and is in very nice condition with minimal wear and no damage.
