This old Edison record is for use on a cylinder phonograph. This Edison Amberol Record is made of a plastic material with a plaster core. It is a 4 minute record and must be played on phonographs that are geared for four minute records and that have a reproducer with a diamond stylus.
Around the title end of the record it reads; 4402 Christmas Carols (Chimes) Bells of Old Trinity, N.Y. It also has the Thomas A Edison signature – Made in U.S.A.
It comes in an orange and blue cylindrical Edison Amberol box with the trademark signature and the phrase; A Product of the Edison Laboratories. It has 1917 patent information on the back panel. It comes with it original lid that has the same information as the top edge of the record.
The record is about 4 1/8” long by 2 1/8” in diameter with a tapered inside diameter to fit snuggly on a standard phonograph mandrel. It is in good condition with minimal wear. The sound reproduction cannot be guaranteed but from experience it should play well if used properly and it is being sold as-is. The box shows minimal wear and soiling with a little discoloration on the lid.
