This antique, glass juice reamer was patented by John Manny in 1885. The clear glass ring has a ridged dome reamer with slots around it for the juice to pass through. This small size may have been intended for lemons and limes rather than oranges or grapefruits. This apparently could have been used seated on a glass of the appropriate diameter or nestled inside of a tapered glass receptacle. The outer ring is embossed with “Manny’s” and a series of patent dates, the first being in 1885 and the last 1889. The inner ring is marked; Made in U.S.A.
It measures 3 ¾” in diameter and about 1 5/8” in height. It is in fairly good condition but there are chips around the bottom edge.
