This old green glass bottle once held Seven-Up syrup and is labeled for “Fountain and Post-Mix Vending Only”. Soda syrups were often dispensed from pump dispensers and then soda water was added into the glass for effervescence. This was labeled with the intention that the bottle would being inverted on a dispenser and therefore the paper label that appears upside down is displayed right side up when it is inverted onto a glass or crockery dispenser. The bottle held one gallon and was distributed by the Seven-Up Bottling Company of Twin Falls, Idaho. It has a design patent molded into the glass that dates this to the early 1960’s. It has its original metal lid with the 7-up logo.
It measures about 12 ¼” tall and about 6 ¼” in diameter and is in good condition with minimal wear and no damage to the glass. The paper label is in generally good condition with light crease and rub wear, a few small tears and minor water stains. The lid is dented and has some paint loss.
