This is a sharp looking old spice tin that use to contain 10 Savita Bouillon Cubes. The bouillon cubes were made of a yeast extract and advertised as being Delicious, Nutritious and Appetizing, Rich in Vitamin B. This product was a part of the Battle Creek Diet System made by The Battle Creek Food Co. of Michigan. This company was founded by John Kellogg of the same family that made Kellogg’s Corn Flakes cereal. The tin is orange and cream with black lettering and metallic gold accents. The lid slides to open and I believe this is from the early 1900’s.
It measures about 3 1/8” wide by 1 ½” deep by 5/8” thick and is in very nice condition with good color and gloss and minimal scuff wear. There is some minor paint wear to the edges and corners.
