This old menu has a simple cover the restaurant name; Victory Coffee Shop and a large, double line V with stars. It shows that it was located on N. Virginia St. in Reno Nevada and it has a telephone number. Even before getting to the fun nostalgia of the inside there is an interesting paragraph at the bottom of the front. It basically says that the prices are in accordance with the OPA regulations. The OPA was the Office of Price Administration that was established to regulate food prices and stabilize the cost of living during World War Two. The inside shows that this was a full service restaurant with breakfast lunch and dinner entrees. Coffee was a nickel and a complete lamb chop dinner was 70c. Several of the items had price increases after the menu was printed and those prices are modified in pen with the old price marked out. Attached to the inside is a typed list of additions to the printed menu. There is nothing on the back side.
It measures about 5 ¾” by 8 ½” when closed and is in fairly good but used condition. It has light edge and corner crease wear and an impression from the paper clip holding in the addendum. The insert may have been trimmed at the bottom, has crease and soiling.
