This little paper item is an old trade card advertising M. Reubold, Dealer in all kinds of Boots and Shoes. It has a funny looking, child-like figure, seated on a very short stool. He has his stocking foot raised and the caption reads “Where’s my shoe”. The address is interesting, No.312 Bush Street, Under Russ House. The Russ House of San Francisco has it’s own colorful history but it’s fun to have a trade card from a business that operated under it. According to some business references, I believe this is from the 1880’s.
It measures about 2 5/8” by 4 1/8” and is in fairly nice condition with good color and minor edge and crease wear. It does have some stains and soiling.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
