This is an old square head, carpenters combination square made by the Union Tool Co. of Massachusetts. The head travels in a groove that’s on one side of the 12” steel blade. The knurled screw tightens to keep the head in a set position on the blade. There is a small bubble level on one side and the end has the original scribing tool. The flat side of the blade is marked in 32nd and 16th inch increments and the grooved side is marked 1/8th and 16th inch increments. The blade also reads; Union Tool Co. Orange, Mass. U.S.A. Carp. Sq..
It is in good condition with average use wear. There is minor wear to the black japanning, mostly just along the edges. The glass bubble is in tact and operable. There is some pitting to the metal rule.
