This piece of pottery appears to be an older piece, probably from the Tonala area of Mexico. The duck like bird is hand painted in muted earth tone glazes with a white bird painted on its back. It is a thin glaze over the light colored clay. The bottom reads; Mexico - I.D. and there is a firing air hole.
It measures about 4 ¼” tail to beak by 2” wide across the body and about 3” high. It is in very nice condition with minimal scratch wear and paint loss.
