This attractive old necklace is made of faceted green glass beads with decorative brass beads and brass findings. The bauble is intaglio cut with the characteristic of many old Czechoslovakian perfume bottle stoppers. The cut design looks like a spray of starflowers. The glass is a beautiful green that takes on the look of uranium glass when it is worn against black. There are small elongated beads with six larger beads separated by four round brass beads that are delicately detailed with tiny flowers. This has all of the qualities of a Czech piece but the clasp is not marked. I believe this is from the 1920’s- 1930’s.
The necklace measures about 16 ½” in total length. The bauble measures about 1 ½” long by 1 ¼” wide and it dangles about 2” from the necklace. It is in very nice condition with minimal wear and nice patina to the brass. There are some small chips around the openings of the beads but that appears to manufacturing defects when the beads were drilled rather than damage from use.
