This cute little figure is an old Christmas angel and it was used in jewelry store windows in the late 1950’s. The cherub appears to be wearing only a diaper and a long red robe trimmed in white. The face is angelic with a tiny mouth, little pug nose and closed eyes. Little angel wings, trimmed with gold, are sticking through the back of the red robe. The baby is holding a Christmas present which is tied with a green ribbon. On the back side of the package there is a small hole which might hold a little candle like a birthday candle. On the bottom it is incised with a copyright symbol and; Jewelry Industry Council. According to an old, 1957 magazine ad, this little cherub was used by Jewelry Industry Council jewelers to identify them as selling heavenly jewelry gifts.
The angel measures about 4 1/8” tall and is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
