This old candy dish has a pattern of raised bumps, known as hobnail, which have an appearance of moonstones. The bowl has two handles which carry out the opalescent hobnail pattern. The dish has its original, matching glass lid with a knob handle in the center. I believe it was made in the late 1950’s or 1960’s by the Anchor Hocking Glass Company. This would be a pretty accent piece filled with colored foil wrapped candies.
The bowl measures almost 6” in diameter excluding the handles and about 7 1/16” across at the handles It measures about 2 ¼” high without the lid and 4 3/8” high with the lid on. It is in very good condition with minimal wear. There is a tiny nick on the inside, bottom of the bowl and a few flakes on the inside rim of the lid.
