This is an old game of dominos featuring animals on the playing pieces. The tiles are made of cardboard, rather crudely cut (they aren’t a precise or uniform size), paper covered on one side with animals instead of numbers or pips. Each animal has a rank and the animals are; Lion, Elephant, Bear, Giraffe, Camel, Zebra, Deer, and Monkey. The Directions are printed on the front of the colorful box that has an example of the game being played and pairs of animals strolling about outside the ark. This game was made by the Wilder Mfg. Co. of St. Louis and features the diamond YLDR trade mark on the lid. I believe this is from the early 1900’s.
The box measures about 6 1/8” by 7 7/8” by 1” and is in nice condition with good colors and light crease and edge wear. A strip of paper has been glued across the top edge of the box with a name and partial address. The bottom half of the box shows more wear than the lid with a torn seam. The tiles measure about 1” by 1/34” but as previously stated, they vary in size and they were cut so that part of one tile is part of another tile. They are in fair condition with signs of use. They have edge and splayed corner wear and a few unglued edges. The game is complete with all 36 tiles.
