This is an old flower ring in the shape of a heart with a small cherub perched at the top. The little baby has its ankles crossed and one hand raised as though waving. It has curly hair and a sweet looking face although not sharply detailed. It has no wings so probably would not be considered an angel. The ring sits up on three little feet and the sides of the shallow vase are decorated with a scroll design. This could have been used for violets, pansies, small roses or any number of other small flowers. This would make such a pretty Valentine display. On the bottom it is stamped; Made in Japan. I believe this is probably from the 1930’s.
The heart portion measures about 6 3/4” by 7 1/8” by 1 7/8” and it measures about 5 1/8” to the top of the cherub. It is in very nice condition with minimal wear. There is one crack which I have shown in the last photo. I have shown it from the inside of the ring and also shown the back side of the ring where the crack is not visible. I think this is probably a manufacturing, firing flaw but am noting that it is there and is being sold as-is.
