This little red fire truck is a die cast metal vehicle, painted red with silver highlights. This was made by the American Manoil Manufacturing Co. of New York in the early 1950’s, probably post war but pre 1955. The front bumper, grill and headlights are painted silver as is the ladder on the top, the hose sections on one side and 2 disks on the other side that resemble large lights. The truck has its original, hard rubber tires on metal axles. On the bottom it is stamped; Manoil - Made in U.S.A. - Pat. Pending No.709.
It measures about 4 5/8” long by 1 ½” wide by 1 5/8” high and is in very good original condition with almost no wear. The paint is bright and glossy and the tires are undamaged. There is a half circle casting flaw on one side panel which I have shown in the photos. On that same side is a dark mark that looks like a grease pencil mark, probably an original price, it might be a “9” for nine cents.
