This beautiful old hat is simple but chic and appears to be made of a luxurious dark brown mink. I believe is would be considered a pillbox style hat that would accentuate an outfit without taking center stage. Bands of fur encircle the hat like a rich chocolate ladyfinger dessert. The bands taper slightly as they come to a subtle point I at the center. The fur is quite pretty with dark tips and a slightly lighter color nap close to the hide. It has a fabric inner lining with a wide elastic band. Attached to the elastic head band is a label that reads; Marshall Field & Company. On the back side of the elastic there is a Union Made label. I would assume this is from the 1950’s or 1960’s.
The opening measures about 20 ½” inside circumference and it’s about 3 ½” high with a slightly doming crown. It is in very good condition with minimal wear.
The hat comes with its original box that reads; A Mr. Henri Creation. The box measures about 7 5/8” in diameter by 4 ¼” high and it is in good condition with minor soiling and stains on the lid. It has the original cord to secure the lid.
