These old New Years postcards are from the early 1900’s.
The first postcard is colorful and full of luck with a four leaf clover and a horseshoe among the roses and a lavender ribbon. It was printed in Saxony and has a shiny finish. Correspondence and stamp on the back with a 1910 postmark. It measures about 3 ½” by 5 ½” and is only in fair condition with edge and corner wear and the finish on it is crackled and crazed.
The second is wishing a Happy New Year from Cedar Bluffs. A red breasted bird rests on a holly branch with a home scene in the background. “Cedar Bluffs” was apparently written in by the sender. It is from the New Years Series, Number 686 with a 1910 copyright by A.S. Meeker of New York. Correspondence on the back with a 1911 postmark. It measures about 3 1/2” by 5 1/2” and is nice condition with light creases, edge and corner wear.
Priced and sold as the pair.
