This old cookbook from Sunset Magazine has been a favorite in American kitchens for more than 75 years. The book is filled with page after page of recipes and comic strip like illustrations. Although there is a comprehensive index for the recipes at the end of the book the choice of recipes on each page is quite random. For instance, on the first page the recipes are Chili Meat, Frosted Coffee Cookies and Fresno Pudding. The illustrations on that page are for the Chili Meat but the illustrations for the Fresno Pudding are on the next page that has recipes for Carrots Australian, Fairy Cake, Mile High Icing and Egg Ring Salad. There are also suggested meal plans using the recipes throughout the book. It has 223 pages including the index. It has a lightweight cardboard cover with a plastic spiral spine. It has an original copyright date of 1938 but this is a fourth printing from 1940.
It measures about 7 ¼” by 9 ¼” by 1/2” and is in very good condition. The inside pages are clean with minimal wear. The cover shows light scuff wear and edge & corner wear.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
