This old book is not a child’s book of fables. Instead, this book is a look at the life of the Greek Aesop and a collection of the famed fables as adult literature. The stark writings have been translated and edited by Lloyd W. Daly and the wood block type illustrations are by Grace Muscarella. The hardbound book has 317 pages including the index. It was published by Thomas Yoseloff and it has a 1961 copyright date by A.S. Barnes & Co. Inc.. This is a third printing from 1963. It has its original dust jacket.
It measures about 5 7/8” by 8 ½” by 1 1/8” and is in very good condition with minimal wear. The hardbound linen cover is clean with minimal edge wear. The inside pages are clean and crisp and the spine is tight. The dust cover has served its purpose well and is fairly good condition with some edge wear and small tears.
