This is an old 3 piece carving set that would have been found at a 1930's to 1950's dining table. The Catalin or Bakelite handles and the metal ferrule on all three pieces match in design but the fork and knife are a butterscotch color and the sharpening steel is in a contrasting cream or ivory color. The fork is marked “Stainless” and the knife is marked “Washington Forge Stainless Steel”. The three pieces come in a wood holder that would keep the three piece together and undamaged in a kitchen drawer.
The wood rack measures about 13 ¾” long by 5 ¼” wide by 1 3/8” high. The knife measures about 12 ½” long and appears to have never been sharpened. The steel measures about 11 7/8” long and is in good condition with minor wear. The fork measures about 10” long. The tines are bent a little and have a little scarring from use. The handles on all three pieces are in good condition with no damage.
