This little silver charm is nicely detailed and I believe it resembles a leather, 12 panel soccer or football ball. It seems this style ball was used in the 1920’s and into the 1950’s but I don’t know how much later and I am not an expert on the sport or its equipment. It is not designed like a modern day ball. One side has the “laces” and the other side is engraved with the letter “W” or “M” if you turn it upside down. It is hollow with a stationary ring soldered to the top. Near the bottom seam it is stamped; Sterling. The loose jump ring is not sterling.
It measures about 11/16” in diameter and is in very good condition with minimal wear. It would make a nice addition to a charm bracelet of sports memorabilia or worn on a neck chain as a pendant.
