This is a complete old set called Audels Masons & Builders Guide - A Practical Illustrated Trade Assistant on Modern Construction for Bricklayers, Stone Masons, Cement Workers, Plasterers and Tile Setters. These were written to give technical trade information in concise, accurate, plain language with the additional use of simple diagrams and pictures. All of the books are hardbound, black cloth covered with yellow/gold lettering and red page edges. The last copyright is 1951 by Theo. Audel & Co. of New York who was also the publisher. Each volume has different information and areas of focus, including but not limited to, this small sample of the topics;
Guide #1 - Brick Making - Mortar - Patterns in Brick Walls - Glass Blocks. Guide #2 - Chimneys & Fireplaces - Repairing Old Brick Work - Tile Setting. Guide #3 - Concrete - Stucco - Concrete Blocks - Waterproofing. Guide #4 - Reading Blueprints - Plastering - Stone Masonry - Steel Construction.
Each book measures about 4 7/8” by 6 5/8” with varying thicknesses of ½” to 5/8”. They are in very good condition with minimal edge and corner wear. The bindings are tight and the pages are generally clean and crisp with no tears, soiling or markings. Each has a few creased pages or folded corners and the last volume’s pages are slightly wavy, probably from dampness at some time.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
