This old male doll is dressed in the finest “suit of lights”, gold sequined attire befitting a great torero. He holds his red and yellow capote, or cape, boldly in front of him, teasing the charging toro. It looks like his face is a molded fabric with painted features and his arms and legs are felt covered wire. The felt covered bull has glass eyes and carries the burden of four decorated darts in the back of his neck. There are stitches of red representing blood at the base of these banderillas. This is a finely made set that were probably made in Spain during the 1950’s or 60’s by Klumpe or Roldan.
He measures about 8 ¼” tall and the bull measures about 9 ¼” from tail tip to horn tip. They are both in very good condition with minimal wear.
