This lightweight cardboard puzzle is an old premium from the Davoe & Raynolds Company date 1933. The puzzle and the original envelope tell an ancient story about BoBo and the accidental discovery of roast pig in China. There is a partial limerick on the puzzle as well and apparently completing the limerick was a way to win a prize, the complete details were on an enclosed circular which is no longer with the puzzle and envelope. The connection between the puzzle theme and the Davoe company is that pig bristles were used for the companies Superkleen paint brushes! Some of the puzzle pieces are in fun shapes that a child could trace onto a piece of paper.
The puzzle measures about 6 ½” by 8 1//2”, is complete and in good condition with rich colors and minimal wear. The envelope is just slightly larger than the puzzle, wrinkled with some stains and tears but makes for fun and interesting reading.
