This is an old “bar” of soap that is in the shape of Walt Disney’s Donald Duck. Donald looks a little befuddled with his right hand up to his head. The details of his clothes are molded but the band on his hat, his tie and his eyes are painted blue and his beak is painted orange. On the front between his legs it reads; Castile Soap. Across the back edge is the Walt Disney’s copyright. I believe this is from the late 1930’s. He measures about 4 5/8” high and it measures about 2 7/8” across his feet. The soap is in fairly good condition with minor age crazing and light edge wear. The original paint is fair, the blue is pretty good but the orange is discolored and shows wear.
The box has very nice graphics with a nice image of Donald on two sides where it reads; Walt Disney’s Donald Duck Modeled in Soap. The lower edge has the Walt Disney Enterprises copyright. The opposing sides of the box show the soap was manufactured by Lightfoot Schultz Co. of New York. The box measures about 2 3/8” square by 5 ¼” high and shows wear. The graphics are nice and the colors are fairly good but the box has crease wear, small tears and light soiling. All of the top flaps are missing and the top edge is pretty beat up.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
