This type of bell was found on a number old pedal cars like the Murray fire vehicles from the 1950’s and 1960’s. It is made of plated steel with a yoke clapper inside that sends out a clear clang! There would have been a cord through the hole in the top of the clapper so the driver of the car could ring the bell while peddling around. The bracket has a ridge down the back and two holes for mounting to the hood of the car in place of or as a hood ornament.
The bell portion measures about 3 5/8” in diameter and the bracket measures about 2 3/8” across and the holes measure about 2 9/16” apart from the center of each.
