This old book, although little, has two hundred twenty examples of Japanese Haiku 17 syllable poems. The poems have been translated by Peter Beilenson from works by Basho, Buson, Issa, Shiki, Sokan, Kikaku and others. It has a 1955 - 1956 copyright by the publishers The Peter Pauper Press of Mount Vernon, New York. It comes with its original dust jacket that has the original price of $1.25..
It has 61 pages and measures about 4 ½” by 7 ½” by 3/8” thick and is in good condition with minimal wear. The inner pages appear to be unmarked and basically clean and the spine is tight. The hardbound cover is in good condition having been protected by the dust cover. The dust jacket has minor soiling.
