This old cup & saucer set is a white, hard paste porcelain with an embossed scroll design and a colorful floral pattern called Persan Rouge. Where the wide band of the saucer drops slightly in the center there is a pie crust flute impression and then a depression for the cup. Small floral sprays trim the wide band and there is a tiny, rather geometric boarder along the outer edge of the plate and the outside edge is trimmed with gold. The colors of the design are shades of orange and blue, pink and green. The cup has a complimentary design with a larger floral design on the front and back and the handle of the cup is also embellished with gold. Both pieces are marked; Royal Limoges France - Persan Rouge. There is also a small green stamp with a fleur d'lis in the center and Limoges France. I have not been able to come up with an exact date but the estate this came from thought it to be from the late 1930's or sometime in the 1940's.
