This is a very nice old ewer made in Czechoslovakia. The two spouted jug has rich colors with both matte and gloss glazes. A woman in a kneeling position is featured on the front and on either side of her are handled pots in blue glazes. The geometric band around the center is green and dark blue and the band around the bottom edge is dark blue and aqua. There is a flower on the back and each side, all in baby blue. The pebbled background is a muted maroon, more subdued than the photos show but the other colors are more vivid than in the pictures. On the bottom is an incised number; 12317 and a mark that could be the artist or painters mark. There is also a stamped mark that reads; Amphora - Made in Czecho-Slovakia.
It measures about 6 ¼” high to the top of the handle and probably about 6“ across at the center. It is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage. There is a glaze flaw on the handle which I have shown in the photos.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
