This is a nicely hand painted old half doll pincushion. The porcelain doll appears to dressed for a costume party with a pirouette like polka dotted bodice with a large green, ruffled collar and matching clown like hat. Her tightly stuffed fabric skirt has a lacey front which is trimmed with a ruffle that matches the hem ruffle. A small bow is pinned at the back. Because she is still attached to the pincushion I cannot tell if she is marked but my guess is that she was probably made in Japan since the detail isn’t as fine as most German half dolls. I believe she was probably made in the 1930’s.
She measures about 5 ¼” tall and is very nice condition with minimal wear and no damage. The dress is somewhat faded, lightly soiled and full of pin holes. There is a small tear in the lacework of the dress.
