This old bronze medallion advertises Locorten (Flumethasone Pivalate) a pharmaceutical product by Ciba. It uses a sensual nude female in the center. The seated woman with arms raised and back arched has a cloth draped below her hips and is artistically beautiful. I believe this is from the 1960’s when this drug was first introduced on the market. Only the one side has the embossed design, the back is plain and flat and lighter in color than the front. Along the lower edge it reads; Medallic Art Co. N.Y. - Bronze. This would make a very nice paperweight for the desk of a doctor or pharmacist.
It measures about 2 ½” in diameter by almost 3/16” thick and is in nice condition retaining its original patina. It does have a few dark, discolored spots and stains on the front and the back has scratch wear. The edges also has some nick wear.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
