This old light fixture is pretty basic but it is fun in that it appears to have never been used and it comes with its original, graphic box. It is a Steber No.2 Utilite for Indoor or Outdoor Service For PAR-38 or R-40 Lamps. It is made of steel which has the appearance of aluminum. Inside the light canister is a porcelain socket that takes a standard base, screw-in light bulb. The bracket that connects the socket holder to the mounting base has three wing nuts which allows adjustment for spotlighting. It is wire with a black, industrial cord with a 2-prong plug and has no on/off switch. This would need to be plugged in and unplugged for use. It was made by the Steber Manufacturing Co. of Illinois. It comes with its original box and two gaskets. I believe this is from the 1950’s.
The base measure about 4 1/8” in diameter and it measures about 4 ½” high with the socket canister in the neutral position. It is in very good condition and appears to be new, old stock.
The box has different graphics on all four sides and states the uses, in part, as being for outdoor living and holiday decoration. The top and bottom flaps picture the lamp with a light bulb. The box measures about 4 ¾” square by 3” deep and is in nice condition with some edge and corner wear and some tears, mostly on the flaps.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
