This nicely detailed old thimble is made of sterling silver and has a series of anchors around 3/4 of the band. The anchors are linked together with a swagged chain design and the background has vertical lines. The bottom edge of the thimble is detailed with a heavy scroll design. One section of the band is plain and it was probably intended for a monogram. There is no indication of size or maker on the outside. Inside it is marked Sterling over a star hallmark. It appears to have a thimble or bell inside the star which is the hallmark for Waite Thresher Co. of Rhode Island circa 1860-1927. There is also the number 11 which I would assume to be the size.
It measures about 3/4” high and about 5/8” in diameter and is in very nice condition with minor wear and no holes in the stippled area. There is minor scratch wear from sewing needle work.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
