This beautiful old dinner plate is a white, hard paste porcelain with an embossed scroll design and a colorful floral pattern called Persan Rouge. The colors of the design are shades of orange and blue, pink and green. Where the wide band drops slightly in the center there is a pie crust flute impression. The center of the plate has a colorful design with large flowers and complementing small floral sprays trim the wide band. There is a tiny, rather geometric boarder along the outer edge of the plate and the outside edge is trimmed with gold. The center design has the name d'Artois. On the back it is marked; Royal Limoges France - Persan Rouge. There is also a small green stamp with a fleur d' lis in the center and Limoges France. I have not been able to come up with an exact date but the estate this came from thought it to be from the late 1930's or sometime in the 1940's.
