These little ladies are old representations of young Geishas dressed in traditional kimonos. Their attire is white with gold trim and gold outlined flowers. The flowers are enhanced with pale blue and lavender coralene. Each girl has an applied rose in her hair and a metal hair adornment that has long silver colored dangles. Their hairdos are also enhanced with gold. They have large black eyes, pale complexions and small red lips. One is playing a drum with sticks, another is holding a small drum on her shoulder and the third is playing a stringed instrument. The bottom of each has a paper label that reads; Japan, otherwise there are no markings indicating who made them. I would assume these are from the 1950’s or 1960’s.
They vary slightly in height measuring about 5 1/4" - 5 3/8". They are all in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage. On the back of one (the middle one in the photos) there are a few firing flaws. One looks like a chip but I think it was done when the others were done when apparently there were pieces touching in the firing.
Priced and sold as the set of three (3).
