This old tin once held a product called Pecora Asbestos Furnace Cement. The tin has bold graphics with a devil logo that was registered by the U.S. Patent Office in 1899. The product’s claim was “Iron will Melt Where This Cement Will Stand”. It was manufactured by the Pecora Paint Co. of Philadelphia and the empty tin is prior to 1957 when the company changed its name. It has its original, pry-off lid.
The tin measures about 3” high by 2 7/8” in diameter and is nice condition with good gloss and minor scratch and dent wear. The color around the top edge of the tin is uniformly, lighter in color than the body of the tin. The top and bottom have some minor rust and discoloration.
