This old tie tack is quite classy in its simplistic design. The gold tone metal has brite-cut rays with a smooth, shiny edge. In the center is a depression and there is a small diamond chip set with four prongs. On the back it is marked Anson Karatclad. The Anson company made fine tie tacks beginning in the late 1930’s using the Karatclad name which referenced their electroplated gold line. It comes with a locking clutch which has a short chain and bar. Both pieces are goldtone in color.
The tack measures about 3/8” in diameter and is in very nice condition with minimal wear. There is some rub wear to the post that goes through the tie.
