This nicely detailed old thimble is made of sterling silver and has an alternating panel design. The tooled scroll pattern panels alternate with plain panels, five of each. There is no indications of size or maker on the outside. Inside it is marked Sterling over a star hallmark. It appears to have a thimble or bell inside the star which is the hallmark for Waite Thresher Co. of Rhode Island circa 1860-1927. There is also the number 10 which I would assume to be the size.
It measures about 7/8” high and about 11/16” in diameter and is in nice condition with minor wear and no holes in the stippled area. There is minor scratch wear from sewing needle work.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
