This old desk top wire stapler is a nice looking office piece. The knob on the top reads; Arrow 202. It appears to be made of nickeled steel and it has simple, industrial lines. There is a button on the bottom that turns the stapling plate so the staples can be flared out rather than turned in and under as is typical (see photo). The back panel below the knob reads; Use Only Genuine Arrow 200-3 Staples but is seems to take Standard staples such as ½” x ¼” however there may be a reason the recommendations are specific. By the patent number on the bottom it dates to 1942.
It measures about 6 5/8” long by 2 ¼” wide across the front by 3 1/8” high and is in good original, presumably usable condition. The plating is in very nice condition with minimal wear. The rubber pads on the bottom are intact with minimal wear. As the photo of the staples shows, it does seem to work with the standard staples but it is not guaranteed to work with any and all staples.
