This fun donkey cart figurine is actually an old salt and pepper set with a matching cream and sugar. The sleepy eyed donkey, wearing a blue hat, is attached to the cart that has indentations for the condiment pieces which look like strapped, wooden barrels. It is all decorated under glaze. On the bottom of the wagon is a foiled paper label but it is worn and is not legible and none of the other pieces are marked, however I would imagine it was made in Japan in the 1950’s or 60’s.
Overall it measures about 8 1/8” long and about 4 1/4” high to the top of the salt & pepper shakers on the cart. It’s in very nice condition with minimal wear and no damage.
