This pretty little powder tin is an old Trial Size sample of Sylvan Violet Toilet Talcum Powder from the Armour Company of Chicago. The center has a meadow scene with violets in the foreground and trees along the sides. The entire tine is decorated with an art nouveau design in gold and dark lavender. Both the front and back being the same but the sides are slightly different. This is marked Trial Size which many of the miniature tins are not. The lid which turns to shake out the talc. I believe this is from 1910-1915.
It measures about 2 1/8” tall by 1 ¼” wide and is in very nice condition with good gloss and minimal wear. The gold has a very minimal amount of discoloration on the top and bottom
