This great looking mid century ice crusher was a must for most kitchens in the 1940’s - 1960’s. It was made by the Rival Mfg. Co. of Kansas City, Missouri and is called an Ice-O-Mat. It is very sharp looking with the chrome body and attached black collector bucket. The hinged lid on top opens for putting in the ice cubes and the crank can be turned to the right for fine crush and to the left for coarse crush. The bottom portion snaps off by depressing the two side tabs and the crushed ice can then be served from the plastic canister. This was made to be mounted to the wall using the bracket which is included. The design patent on the inside of the lid dates this to the late 1940’s.
It measures about 9” tall by 3 1/3” wide in the middle and about 4 ¼” front to back at the handle. It is in very good original condition with minimal wear and no damage.
