This pair of old bookends are simple fun and would look especially nice with old gardening books. They were probably a shop or scout project and are made of wood, probably fir or pine. Applied to the face of each is a decal with blue flowers that look like morning glories. Attached to the bottoms are a piece of aluminum. These pieces of metal may have been an afterthought to make them more book stable but they weren’t put on very well and are not finished off well either. They are nailed onto the wood with small, round headed brass brads which could easily mar a nice piece of furniture. A piece of cork or felt might be in order if these are to be used on anything you’d rather not damage.
They measure about 7” high by 5 3/8” wide and are in nice condition with average age wear but note the previous comments about the metal bases.
