This little book; Topsy Turvy and the Tin Clown actually has three stories about Topsy Turvy, a little black-stocking doll. The stories are beautifully told about the little doll who lived in the Comical Doll House down by the Crooked Lane. Beside the Tin Clown story there’s Topsy Turvy Goes to the Circus and Topsy Turvy’s May Baskets. The book is also beautifully illustrated by Esther Friend with simplistic drawings in red and black. This old hardbound child’s book was published by Rand Mc Nalley & Company. It is a 1934 Edition with a 1932 copyright. This is not only a wonderful story book but it is also a piece of black memorabilia which can be enjoyed by the young and the old.
It measures almost 6 ¾” by 9 ¼” by 3/8” thick and is in fairly good but used condition with some issues. The inside pages are generally clean and crisp with minimal soiling. One page has a small tear which is pointed out in the photos. The cover shows edge and corner wear, some soiling and scuff wear. There are a few stains on the back cover but not on the inside pages. The big problem is that it appears that something, probably a rodent, has gnawed the lower edge of both the front and back cover.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
