This metal piece is an old scarf slide featuring a nicely detailed steer head. The cow has long horns and eyes that are focused. Attached to the back of the head is a tapered metal cuff. The neck scarf would be threaded through the cuff and then pushed up to snug it into place. I believe it is silver plated and from 1950’s or 1960’s. This would make a nice gift for a cattleman or woman.
It measures about 2 5/8” wide at the horn tips and the head measures about 1 ¼” in length. It is in very nice condition with minor wear. There is a little yellow base metal showing on the high points where the plating has worn off.
