This beaded collar could have been used to dress up a little black dress or a simple cashmere sweater. It seems every woman, young or old, had one or more of these fashionable collars to augment their wardrobe. This one has six rows of cream colored faux pearl beads separated by six rows of matching elongated beads. It has a satin-like fabric lining with a hook and eye closure. There is no label. I believe this is from the 1950’s.
It measures about 14 ½” along the short side which would be the neck side and it measures about 1 ¾” wide. It is in very nice condition with minimal wear and the hook and eye is intact. It has a tendency to buckle a little in the middle from being folded in half for more than 50 years.
