You can almost see the early television commercial with the happy homemaker using this new gadget. Attached to a long wood handle is an old tin that reads; Hi-Gloss Handy Waxer - For Applying Self Polishing Floor Wax. The tin has a valve at the bottom for dispensing the liquid wax and was controlled by the trigger at the top of the handle. The top of the can with its screw on lid, still has the original cardboard insert showing that the tin was not removable and was meant to be refilled. The directions on the side explain how to use this with a yarn mop but this has a Fuller squeegee attached which was probably added at a later time and handier to use. I would guess it to be from the 1940’s - 1950’s.
The tin measures about 5 7/8” high excluding the lid by 3 3/4” by 1 3/4” and is in fairly good condition with some scratch and scuff wear. The overall length with the squeegee is about 48 ½”. The squeegee end which comes off with the wing nut, will be removed for ease of shipping.
