This tiny razor is an old Myatt safety razor from W.J. Myatt & Co. Ltd. of Birmingham, England. The midget size would have been perfect for travel or boudoir use. The razor head unscrews from the handle to remove and replace the teeny, double edge “Daymark” razor blade. The handle is made of two parts that screw together. The little razor fits neatly in its original metal tin that has a hinged lid with Myatt Ladies Razor written across the top. On the bottom it is also marked with the company information. Inside the lid is an “M” which is hinged. The “M” holds a tiny envelope that contains the original razor blade and also has instruction to turn the blade for a better shave and longer use. The small tin comes in its original, green leather pouch with a snap closure. I believe this miniature razor is from the 1920’s or early 1930’s.
Fully assembled the razor measures about 1 ¼” in length and the head is about 7/8” by ½”. It is in very good condition with no damage. The little tin measures about 1” by 7/8” by 5/8” and is in very nice condition with minimal wear. The lining on the inside does show wear as shown in the photos. The blade packet and the razor are in very nice condition and appear to have never been used. The pouch measures about 1 ¼” by 1 3/8” and it too is in very good condition with minimal wear.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
