This old tin wind up toy appears to be a brown squirrel carrying a green acorn. At first I thought it might be a rabbit with an Easter egg but I think the squirrel is more accurate. The tine is lithographed to look like hair. His ears are made of brown felt. There is a hole in his chest where the key goes to wind him. When wound he hops about madly as though trying to protect his nut. The belly is marked; Made in U.S. Zone Germany D.R.G.M.

To see him in action, search for us on Facebook or look for a link to our Facebook page under Our Favorite Links on our Ruby Lane Home Page.

It measures about 3 ¼” to the top of his tail, the ears make him a little bit taller than that. He’s in very good, working condition with minimal wear. The litho has good color and gloss, even on the legs.

The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
